I have the privilege of talking with folks each and every day who use our First Look materials in their Sunday morning programs. And, every once in a while, I hear from someone who is creatively using First Look in a different type of setting.

  • Ginger McSwain, the wife of the Chaplain to the Atlanta Braves, uses the materials with the preschool-age children of Braves players while their moms participate in a weekly Bible study during home stands.
  • Erin George of Ft. Lauderdale, is leading weekly chapel with 3s and 4s at Calvary Christian Academy. Erin uses the Make It True section during chapel and then offers Small Group activities from Make It Fun and Make It Stick to the preschool teachers to implement in classrooms. The weekly version of Small Talk is sent home to parents in take-home folders each week.
  • LeeAnn Farr, Lead Children’s Minister of BeachKids at Beach United Methodist Church in Jacksonville, Fla., shares First Look with a ministry of the church that provides Sidewalk Sunday School to families of migrant workers on Wednesday evenings.

Ministry takes on many shapes and forms. How do you creatively use First Look to reach preschoolers and their families NOT just on Sunday mornings?
