The XP3 team is thrilled that The Orange Conference is right around the corner. Fifty-one days to be exact but who’s counting?
The great thing about this year’s Orange Conference is that it gathers over 5,000 key influencers—senior, nextgen, student, children’s and preschool leaders—to experience the power of “YES,” and learn new insights into influencing the faith and character of the next generation.
This year’s theme, “YES,” will show how just one word can change everything. YES, you can do less and accomplish more. YES, you will get more momentum when you function like a team. YES, every kid can be connected with a consistent adult leader. YES, what happens at home is as important as what happens at church. A lot can happen when you start acting like the answer is YES.
At this year’s Orange Conference there’s going to be an art gallery that captures this theme of YES. One of the features of the art gallery is the photography that corresponds with the conference theme. And we thought it would be fun to get our XP3 churches to submit their best photography.
This is where you, your camera, and student ministry come in.
We need your help.
We need pictures of your students that depict a typical student characteristic (really any characteristic).
When you say YES to middle schoolers, you say YES to . . .
Instagram, Selfies, Boy Bands, Justin Bieber, Food Bills, Emotions, Tears, Silence, Body Odor, Video Games, Cell Phones, Emoticons, Not “getting it,” Competition, Insecurity, Acne-Medication, Urgent Crisis
When you say YES to high school students, you say YES to . . .
Dress Codes, Dating, Movies, Hormones, Traffic Tickets, Pop Culture, Homecoming, Prom, College Applications, Debate, Stress, Gossip, Questions, Doubts, Spring Break, Retreats, Work Schedules, Surprises, Heart-Break
We need pictures of your students portraying one of these or any characteristic that’s fitting to student ministry. These photos can be professional, posed shots or they can be candid.
And here’s the great news. We are making this a photo contest and giving away one FREE ticket to The Orange Conference. That’s right. A photo contest. And you can use whatever filter or photo editing software you want to make your photo look amazing. Also, Orange Leaders, First Look and 252 Basics are running the same photo contest on their blogs—so feel free to share this photo competition with your children’s pastor so they could win a free Orange Conference ticket too.
If you are interested in participating, here are the contest rules:
1. Entries must be received by 5 PM (ET) on March 14, 2014.
2. Entries must be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org and include the following information: Name, Church Name, Email Address, Phone Number.
